The ’Robin & Bullfinch Collection’ is part of Emma Sjödin’s ornithological series featuring Nordic winter birds. The motif draws its inspiration from her own farm, Frövik, in Småland. In the large garden, surrounded by old trees as well as deciduous and spruce forest, winter birds often gather, feeding on fruit, berries, and the grain left over from Emma’s free-ranging Brahma chickens. In creating the bird motifs, both watercolor and pencil drawing have been used to combine a soft, painterly expression with meticulous detail. Emma has also aimed to give each bird a unique personality.
